The original dragon keepers and their ages when they first signed up for the expedition were: Their first appearance was in Dragon Keeper, volume one of The Rain Wild Chronicles. They were specifically chosen from those who had no significant family ties, were heavily touched by Rain Wild changes, or otherwise would not be missed if their dangerous expedition ended badly. The Dragon Keepers were a group of young adults in Trehaug that were recruited to transport the malformed dragons from nearby Cassarick to a more suitable location for them.
